The Work I’m Already Doing — Action, Not Just Words

This Didn’t Start With a Campaign
Before I ever decided to run for NPTEC, I was already doing this work.
I was writing grants. I was organizing gatherings. I was working alongside our people to rebuild what matters most — our connection to land, food, language, and each other.
That didn’t begin with a campaign, and it won’t end with one.
This is who I am.
A community member who shows up.
Below are two projects I am currently leading — not ideas, not plans, but real work already in motion.
Reclaiming the Harvest
Nimíipuu Food Sovereignty Pilot (April–October 2026)
This project is about returning to what has always sustained us — our First Foods, our knowledge systems, and our relationship with the land.
Over seven months, from April through October 2026, a core team of six knowledge holders will harvest traditional First Foods, including:
qeqiit
qaamsit
litaan
qém’es
cemiitx
This is not just harvesting. It is preservation — of knowledge, language, and identity.
What This Project Includes
Language Documentation
We are working with a linguist to record audio of harvesting practices for tribal archives — ensuring that future generations can hear and learn directly from our knowledge holders.
Community Cooking Class
Ten participants will learn how to prepare and preserve these foods in a hands-on setting.
Final Community Feast
Bringing together approximately 75 people to share in what was harvested and prepared — reconnecting community through food.
Permanent Community Equipment
This project will leave behind tools that belong to the people:
Pressure canners
Dehydrators
Digging tools
These are not one-time efforts. These are resources that will continue serving our community.
This project has already been funded. The work is already underway.
Reconnecting Harmony
Intergenerational Wellness Gathering — Kamiah, June 18–21, 2026

Why This Matters to My Candidacy
I am not asking you to trust me because I give good speeches.
I am asking you to look at the work.
Look at what is already happening.Look at what has already been built.Look at who I have been showing up for — long before this campaign.
I am not waiting for a title to serve.
My heart has always been with the people. And it always will be.
The Bottom Line
Leadership is not about what you say you will do.
It is about what you are already doing —when no one is watching, when there is no spotlight, and when the work still needs to be done.
That is the standard I hold myself to. And that is the standard I will carry with me if elected.
